Legislature Passes Bill
Solar Finally Coming to Pennsylvania!
After more than a year of legislative negotiation, the Pennsylvania Legislature finally passed special session House Bill 01 of 2007/08, which effectively provides funding authorization for most of Governor Rendell's Energy Independence Initiative. The Bill was passed on July 4, and the Governor signed it on July 10. (Read the summary)

For Eos' Clients, the funding may offer up to $180 million in rebates and other incentives. With the funding now authorized, a state agency (perhaps PEDA or the PA DEP) will now develop regulations for program implementation. Eos' managing partner, Andrew Kleeman, believes that the final rebate amounts at the project level will be large enough to make all of its prospective projects viable.

If you are already a prospective Eos client, we will be sending separate updates that are specific to the project we designed for you. If you are not yet a prospective Eos client, call us today to see how cost-effective our solar power systems can be at 215.431.0565.

Sri Lanka Project
Eos Selected as Lead Consultant
Eos Energy Solutions has been selected as the lead consultant for the initial phases of a project funded by the international Asian Development Bank. The project will assess the long term cost viability of a large scale, residential photovoltaic program in Columbo, Sri Lanka, and in four other Sri Lankan cities. Feasibility analysis has begun, and initial prototype systems are scheduled to be installed on location prior to the end of 2008. If the project proceeds as currently envisioned, more than 6,000 Sri Lanka homes would get PV systems.

Eos & Ojai Awarded Major Solar Project
Eos Energy, and its Ventura California-based partner Ojai Solar, have been awarded a major solar carport project at the Santa Barbara City College. The project involves the design, procurement, and installation of a 200,000 watt (pDC) set of solar arrays mounted on top of a set of custom made steel-frame car shade shelters. The project is larger than any existing solar project in Eos's home state of Pennsylvania. Construction will commence in August, with a targeted substantial completion in January 2009.

The project is being completed under the coordination of Compass Energy Solutions of Richmond VA, and is part of a long term commitment by the Santa Barbara City College to dramatically reduce its carbon footprint.
